The Odds

For months now, I've been building my family tree; using online achieves such as ancestry.com and familysearch.org. Both are outstanding sites. I stored everything on my home PC.

Two nights ago, my computer came under attack by an aggressive virus.

I fought desperately to repair it. But in the end I had to reformat my hard drive.
Everything -except my family tree- was recovered.

What are the odds?

what an absolute tragedy!!!! all that work!!! i keep all of my important stuff on a "book" a stand alone storage unit..that way if something happens to my computer,, i have a copy readily available to download back in ...

sorry for the loss,, but thankfully those sites still exist,, and the journey should be more familiar should you decide to go that way again.....

What a shame to learn too late the value of a simple, but sound backup system.

I knew someone would think that. I actually had two backups. But they would not properly reload. Since that day, however, I've been able to recover my backup. :) Thanks for your concern.
